ROUND FOUR - Saturday, June 2nd,  2007 - Rebels vs. Blues
Result: Rebels (7.11.53) def. Blues (1.7.13)

The Rebels found themselves 16 strong this weekend against the Central Blues. After a tough loss against The Toronto Eagles the Rebels were looking for a positive win. With almost an entire month the rust was apparent for the Rebels. Even with strong numbers at training there’s nothing quite like an actual game of Footy. The first quarter saw the Rebels come out with a very slight edge against the second year Blues.

The next quarter proved to be a coming out for 2 of the Rebels most valuable players. Nick Paps played  tough defense against a Blues team that was in search of their first win as a club while Fabs took the team on his shoulders and delivered the ball down to the forward lines time after time. The second quarter had the Rebels ahead by 2 goals.

The 3rd was not much different then the second with amazing play now coming from all over the field from rookies and veterans alike playing up to the level of the 2 stars this game. Rich Fry had the game of his young career in this reporters mind and unfortunately paid a price with a tear in his foot. Get well soon Fry your season is not over!!

The 4th saw the rebels really settle down and take advantage of the hard training over the past 3 weeks. Having only allowed 1 goal in the entire game the defense was still crunching Blues forwards as they desperately tried to solve our backline. The forwards and mid liners were strong with consistent marking and solid handballs up the sides of the grounds. Drago was unbelievable with win after win in the ruck and the on ballers did him justice with great hands and movement forward.

Coach Monty was pleased with this outing by his young and inexperienced team. With this win the Rebels improve to a 2-1 record surpassing last years tough seasons winnings.

Good win boys now let’s take it to Hamilton.
